Hi, I’m Gjenesis Rigsbee! Yes, with a “G” and a “J”. I am a wedding and engagement photographer. Originally from Columbus,OH, I moved to Indianapolis, IN, in 2009. I took a photography class in college (2015) as a way to fill an elective requirement, which required me to purchase a camera. I would never follow the instructions for assignments; I would simply go out to take photos, and whatever I captured would end up on the assignment and my Instagram. The photos I posted to my Instagram began to get traction, and before I knew it, people wanted to book me!

I realized I was taking photos from a place of deep sadness and using them as an outlet. You might be thinking that’s a great way to express yourself. However, I didn’t like the feeling of constant sadness in order to capture great photos. So I stopped taking photos professionally in 2019. In 2025, an old friend asked me to photograph her wedding. I was a little reluctant, especially with no knowledge of how to shoot a wedding. I tried to refer her to someone else, but she insisted. Now, after shooting my first wedding, I enjoyed the love and happiness in the atmosphere, but also that each wedding tells a different story. And that I get to capture moments that will live inside of homes across the globe for years to come.
